Hail Damage Repair in Seal Beach

Hail can bruise shingles, crack tile and dent metal without leaving anything you can see from the ground. We get on the roof, photograph what the storm changed and what was already there, and repair it with materials that match. Start with a roof inspection.

What Hail Repair Involves on an Older Roof

Hail is not a regular visitor here, which is part of why it gets missed. A passing winter storm can drop small, hard pellets for a few minutes, and the damage often shows up months later as granule loss in the gutters or a slow drip at a skylight.

Older roofs take it differently from new ones. Shingles that have spent years in the sun are already stiff, so a strike that would only dent a fresh shingle can fracture an aged one. Clay and concrete tile can crack along old stress lines, and earlier patches sealed with roofing cement tend to split first. Part of our job is sorting storm damage from wear and old repairs, because that line matters to you and to your insurer.

Once we know what we are looking at, we tell you plainly whether a targeted repair will hold or whether the damage is spread wide enough that roof replacement is the better use of your money.

What Our Hail Repair Work Includes

Every slope walked and photographed

We look at the whole roof, not only the side the storm hit. You receive dated photos of bruised shingles, cracked tile, dented vents and harmed flashing, each with a note on what it means.

New damage kept apart from old wear

We record what the hail caused separately from what was already there, like curled tabs, failed caulk or an earlier patch. That keeps the claim accurate and heads off surprises down the road.

Replacing shingles and tile

Damaged shingles are lifted out and swapped for ones close in profile and color, then hand-nailed and sealed. Cracked tile is replaced one piece at a time, and we look at the underlayment while it is uncovered.

Vents, metal and flashing

We straighten or replace dented ridge vents, roof jacks, chimney flashing and drip edge. Hail tends to break the old sealant at these joints, so we reseal them the right way.

Gutter and downspout check

We check for dents, split seams and built-up granules. When the gutters need more than a small fix, we can price that work during the same visit.

Support with your claim

We work directly with your insurance claim, give you our photos and measurements, and can join the adjuster on the roof. Coverage remains the adjuster's call.

Signs Hail May Have Damaged Your Roof

Granules piling up
After a storm, check the gutters and the ground below each downspout. Drifts of sand-like shingle grit mean the surface layer that shields the asphalt from the sun has been knocked loose.
Dents on soft metal
Look at the gutters, downspouts, mailbox and any metal vent caps. Fresh dents there are a good clue that the roof was struck too.
Cracked or shifted tile
Broken corners, hairline cracks or tiles that sit unevenly can let water reach the underlayment, which on an older roof may already be near the end of its life.
New stains inside
A ceiling spot or damp attic insulation weeks after a storm can trace back to a fractured shingle or a split patch that finally let go.
Neighbors filing claims
If people around you are having roofs looked at, yours likely saw the same storm. A free inspection settles the question either way.

How a Hail Repair Job Runs

  1. 1

    Inspection and photos

We walk the roof, attic and gutters, then go through the photos with you. You hear what we found before anyone talks about price.

  2. 2

    Written estimate and claim support

You get a free written estimate with the repair broken out line by line. If you file a claim, we share that documentation and can be there when the adjuster inspects.

  3. 3

    Materials matched and ordered

We match shingle color and profile or source tile that fits your existing pattern. On older roofs this can take a little longer, and we tell you that up front.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We cover plants and protect the driveway, then remove and replace damaged pieces and reseal flashing. Before we leave, we sweep for nails and clear debris from the gutters, and we walk you through the finished work.

What Sets the Price of a Hail Repair

We price hail work from what the inspection turns up, so the estimate follows the visit. When insurance covers the damage, what you pay is usually your deductible plus anything beyond the approved scope. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

How widespread the hits are
Some bruised shingles on a single slope make for a small repair. Strikes on every slope can make replacement the better answer.
What the roof is made of
Asphalt shingles go back on faster than clay or concrete tile, which has to be handled gently and matched one piece at a time.
Sourcing a match
Shingle colors that are no longer made and older tile profiles can take longer to find and cost more per piece.
What lies below
A soft deck, brittle underlayment or an old patch that has failed adds to the job when we uncover it. We take photos and go over it with you before continuing.

Questions About Hail Repair

Is hail really a risk to roofs in this area?
It is rare, but winter storms do bring it now and then. Small hail seldom makes holes, though it can crack shingles and tile that have aged. Since it happens so rarely, most people never think to get the roof looked at afterward.
How quickly should the roof be checked after hail?
The earlier the better, ideally inside a few weeks. New bruises and cracks photograph more clearly than weathered ones, and many policies set a deadline for reporting a loss. A cracked shingle also lets in more water with each rain.
Does insurance cover the repair?
That rests on your policy and what the adjuster finds. We work directly with your insurance claim, supplying photos and measurements and meeting the adjuster if you want. We do not decide coverage or guarantee a result.
Will old patches on my roof work against my claim?
They can make it more complicated, so our notes keep earlier wear and repairs apart from new storm damage. A clean record lets the adjuster see exactly what the storm did.
Can the repair match my current shingles or tile?
In most cases, yes, with color and profile close to what you have. On older roofs the exact product is sometimes discontinued, and then we show you the nearest choices before we order.

Have Your Roof Checked After the Storm

A free inspection tells you whether the hail left damage, what it is, and what fixing it involves. You get photos and a written estimate either way.
